The Legal Framework of the EU: After protracted negotiations, EU representatives have struck a tentative agreement that would create the first comprehensive legal framework controlling AI systems in history, despite concerns from some quarters that it falls short. The Artificial Intelligence Act seeks to provide human assessment, risk management, and transparency in the supervision of high-risk AI. It addresses contentious topics like facial recognition technology, with compromises that permit usage in law enforcement. The act won't go into force until at least 2025 and will be formally put to a vote early in 2024.Add your text here. Google Gemini: With its official launch this past week, Google's Gemini has been positioned as a rival to Open AI's GPT-4 and Microsoft's GPT-4 in the areas of math, reasoning, code, images, audio, and video. According to AI Atlas, this signifies an advancement in AI capabilities and places Gemini as one of the models at the forefront of technological innovation. In a side-by-side comparison, Gemini outperformed ChatGPT and GPT-4 in 30 of the 32 commonly used academic metrics. Significantly, it is the first model to outperform human experts in MMLU, the industry benchmark for assessing AI competence.  Google also has come under fire after acknowledging that it misled viewers with the popular Gemini demo video by heavily editing and using prompts to make the model appear more impressive. Allegedly, researchers took still images from the film, massaged the exchanges with written cues for Gemini off-camera.

Microsoft's AI chatbot Copilot is said to bring new features like multi-modal search, GPT-4 Turbo, and Dall-E3. Much-needed AI capabilities are promised by the update. In a future version, Copilot will get additional capabilities like multi-modal search, GPT-4 Turbo, and Dall-E3.

·       Multi-modal search: With AI integration, Microsoft's online search engine Bing has evolved significantly, enabling multi-modal search when performing web searches. For more precise results, the tool will integrate web search data with the vision of Bing Image search.

·       Powered by the same large language module as ChatGPT, GPT-4 Turbo is a new rival that promises to enhance chatbot responses. You can get free access to GPT-4 through Copilot; as OpenAI develops, it will shortly be updated to Turbo. Users will be able to do lengthier and more difficult jobs with this new upgrade.

·       DALL-E3: DALL-E3, Bing's image creator will soon be used by Copilot, generating high-quality images directly without the chatbot, allowing you to create more in-depth queries. With the same module, Bing's image program—which is exclusive to ChatGPT Plus users—has already added more possibilities for image development.

The Meta Imagine text-to-image generator was unveiled by Meta last week and is accessible online and in Messenger. Imagine was released some months behind rival models like Dall-E3, MidJourney, Jasper, and others, but it has a similar user interface and high-quality image output. This demonstrates Meta's ongoing dedication to artificial intelligence advancement.

MidJourney Midjourney is an AI art generation system that creates images from text descriptions. It uses a type of machine learning model called a diffusion model to generate highly realistic and creative artwork based on the prompt you enter. Often compared to OpenAI’s DALL-E, creators say that Midjourney makes more realistic imagery that resembles human created works. Midjourney allows writers to instantly generate eye-catching images that can be used within articles, blog posts, social media posts, presentations, and more to make the content more engaging and visually appealing. Rapidly visualize ideas, concepts, and scenes that may be difficult to capture from imagination or description alone. Teams creating reams of content can maintain visual consistency in illustrations by using Midjourney across articles, posts, writers, etc rather than relying on sourcing or making one-off images.

Pika Pika is an AI video generation platform that just unveiled its latest AI video generation platform, Pika 1.0. The tool has been dubbed an "idea-to-video" model, capable of generating high-quality videos from simple text prompts. The potential for this type of tool is huge.
