Hello Hong Kong!

 

Launched on February 2, 2023, "Hello Hong Kong", a large-scale global promotional campaign, officially announced this marvelous city's readiness to welcome worldwide visitors. On top of the 500,000 air tickets giveaway with "World of Winners", the city is offering city-wide “Hong Kong Goodies” consumption vouchers to entice travelers as a welcome gesture to visit Hong Kong’s diverse appeals.

 

Hong Kong welcomes you! Visit Hong Kong from overseas places or Taiwan with no quarantine, no isolation, and no vaccination requirements. Normal travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland has resumed with all pre-departure testing requirements lifted. CNY Luncheon featuring Dr. Rosanna Wong

 

During the 1/26 luncheon, Dr. Wong gave everyone an update on Hong Kong’s ambitious growth plans and commented on the challenges ahead, both geopolitical and cultural as Hong Kong continues to adapt to the new cultural and political environment.

The HKANC 39th Anniversary Gala Recap

 

The HKANC 39th Anniversary Gala successfully concluded on February 11. It was a great pleasure to have over 280 local dignitaries, community leaders, and business professionals celebrate the milestone with us.

 

The evening was filled with live entertainment, including performances by a talented band formed by the Federation for Children with Special Needs (FCSN) and friends. Guests were also treated to an exquisite culinary experience, with a variety of Asian-inspired dishes and a selection of exquisite wines and cocktails...

Our first Gala since 2020 was a great success with over 280 people attending the event at the Ritz Carlton, San Francisco. We want to express a special thank you to our Gala planning committee organizers that spent many hours organizing the event, including:

HONG KONG NEWS

The 2023-24 Budget in Hong Kong

 

Financial Secretary Paul Chan began delivering his 2023 budget in the Legislative Council on February 23, 2023, the first under Chief Executive John Lee's administration.

The speech will give an insight into the state of the government's finances and the administration's economic priorities for the year ahead. Chan is also expected to deliver relief measures, as Hongkongers eye whether they will receive a new round of consumption vouchers.

The theme of this year's budget is "Leaping Forward Steadily, Together We Bolster Prosperity under Our New Vision".

Economic and Trade Information on Hong Kong

 

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) decreased by 4.2% in real terms from a year earlier. For 2022 as a whole, GDP decreased by 3.5% in real terms from 2021. The Government forecasts economic growth of 3.5% to 5.5% in real terms for 2023.

HKANC is pleased to be one of the co-presenters of the Children’s Art Contest organized by APAFSS. This annual signature event is to promote family values, creativity, and AAPI Heritage, the focus of this year will be San Francisco Chinatown. Award winners’ artwork will become part of the San Francisco Portsmouth Square Garage photo exhibition for 2 months.
