Marco and Abi - December 2019 |

Marco Aguirre will be interviewed on WORT’s Spanish-speaking show, “En Nuestro Patio”, on Tuesday, Jan 10 from 7-8 PM. We hope you’ll tune in! Marco is originally from El Salvador and has relatives in Arcatao. He and his wife, Abi, found out about MASCP while visiting family in Arcatao. They were super surprised to see an old photo there with a banner that said,” Arcatao y Madison en Solidaridad.” They came back home to Madison and have been active MASCP members ever since! Marco has close connections in El Salvador and will be sharing detailed current information about the political situation and the “state of exception” in force in El Salvador still today as well as information about MASCP activities in Madison and in Arcatao. Many thanks to Nadya Miriam, the host of “En Nuestro Patio” on WORT-89.9 FM- for inviting Marco to join her on Jan 10 from 7-8 PM! |

Join MASCP traveling to Arcatao in June 2023! |
We are excited to announce that there will be an MASCP-sponsored trip to Arcatao in 2023 for the first time in 3 years! The trip will be June 10-17, 2023. Leaders will be Joan Laurion and Abi Degner from Madison who have both been to Arcatao many times and Mario Guevara and Zulma Tobar, US El Salvador Sister City (USESSC) staff in El Salvador. Traveling with MASCP and USESSC to Arcatao is safe, fun, interesting, breathtaking, and a profound way to participate in international solidarity. If you’re even a little bit interested, we can answer your questions at the Finca Cafe gathering on Saturday, January 14 between 10 AM-noon. Or you can email us. |

“It’s hardly a secret. Reviewers and the public have been over the moon about the Salvadoran quesadillas at Finca Coffee in Madison since the shop opened in 2019. But seriously, you need to try these!” Isthmus reviewer, Linda Falkenstein, December 2022. |

Here’s your chance to visit with MASCP friends and try these sweet, buttery Salvadoran cakes (these are not Mexican quesadillas) as well as savor great coffee and authentic Salvadoran pupusas! |

Finca is owned by the Salvadoran couple, Silas and Marleni Valle, and is a beautiful sunny restaurant. A couple of us MASCP members will be there to visit and and share a cuppa with you on January 14 from 10 AM-noon. Maybe you’ve always wondered what MASCP is about. Come look for the table with the MASCP sign and chat with us! We hope new and old friends will come to say “Buenas” and support this wonderful island of El Salvador right here in Madison! We will also be at Finca on February 11 and March 11. |
