Event Recap: June Virtual Lamplighter Session

In June, the Omega Lamplighters Cohort held another impactful Virtual Lamplighter Session. This month's distinguished speaker was Col. Khallid Shabazz, a U.S. Army Chaplain and renowned motivational speaker.

Col. Shabazz captivated the audience with his insightful talk on "Ingenuity & Career Choices." He shared his experiences and offered valuable advice on how to navigate career paths with creativity and determination. His inspiring words left a lasting impression on all attendees, encouraging them to think outside the box and pursue their passions with confidence.

The session also featured an engaging black history trivia segment. We are proud to announce that this month's trivia winner was Jabari Jennings, who demonstrated impressive knowledge and quick thinking.

We look forward to continuing these enriching sessions and providing our cohort with opportunities to learn from esteemed leaders and engage in meaningful activities.
 

Event Recap: "Baseball With Da Bruhz"

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, "Baseball With Da Bruhz" was held at the Lookouts Lounge at AT&T Field. The occasion was a celebration of the 8 out of 15 mentees who achieved 80% attendance in this year's Omega Lamplighters Cohort. The event also honored the inaugural Dr. Marvin Lott Scholarship Recipients and acknowledged the invaluable support of our sponsors.

The atmosphere was electric as attendees gathered to celebrate success, enjoy delicious food, and revel in a fantastic game of baseball. It was a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and community spirit.

Calling all community champions! We're thrilled to announce the details for our annual Bridge Builder Cookout, a cherished tradition where we celebrate the heart of our mission – connecting with the children and residents of underserved communities.

Join us on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, from Noon to 4 PM at the East Chattanooga Community Center for a day brimming with fun, laughter, and connection. The Bridge Builder Cookout is a vibrant gathering where we:

• Share delicious complimentary food

• Engage in exciting entertainment

• Actively participate in games and activities with the kids

   

Give Back Through Blood Donation:

This year's cookout will also host a blood drive! Donating blood is a life-saving act, and we encourage you to consider participating. The first 30 heroes who step up to donate will receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card as a token of our appreciation.
