A message from NJBS President Cristy Benvenutti. Good bye summer, hello fall. NJBS continues to raise awareness by participating in various festivals including the Montclair Jazz Festival and the Morristown Jazz and Blues Festival. NJBS met hundreds of blues fans and welcomed new members and bands. Next stop is the Autumn Lights Festival in West Milford on October 8th. The NJBS Blues & Brews series continues at Montclair Brewery. NJBS hosted Carlos Colina & the Grind on September 18th and the show was spectacular; join NJBS on October 23rd with Charlie Apicella & Iron City with a special event - a fashion show by Sofistafunk - an event not to be missed. John Nemeth was recently diagnosed with an ameloblastoma, an aggressive, benign tumor in his jaw which required extensive, very specialized surgery NOT covered by insurance. A GoFundMe has been set up to help with the staggering medical costs that his family and he are facing.
