Perfectionism Instagram vs. Reality |
Many social media influencers are currently participating in the campaign, "Instagram vs. Reality". Influencers post a beautifully perfect picture then post the same picture taken in the real world. Of course, the discrepancy between the two pictures indicates that all images on Instagram are perfect, and not so perfect in Reality. Every time I scroll through these images and reels, I chuckle and experience a little freedom. The desire for perfection is prominent throughout the world. I certainly agree because it is a generational thought and behavior that has been passed down the line in my family. I hate admitting it, but I even find myself continuing to pass it along to my children from time-to-time, however; it is a lot less than before...thank you Breathwork! ;) Breathworx614 has received some expansive opportunities this month. Learning to reframe generational thought patterns around public speaking and the need to display a formal and perfect persona has been at the forefront of discussions. Who or what actually shines when you are not being yourself? Learning that perfectionism is a choice and can be changed is rewarding. Building an understanding that no one is perfect is helpful. BUT reminding ourselves "I am good enough" or "It's good enough" in the moment, especially when there's a need to keep performing and attempting for perfection...now that's freeing! I instantly feel a weight lifted off my shoulders. I then chose not to participate in perfectionistic thoughts or behaviors. The result? Every time, I receive love and joy. So the next time you find yourself participating in perfectionism, remind yourself, you and your life are not Instagram, you my dear, get to experience something far more authentic and more rewarding, Reality. |

Safety The Foundation to Transformation If I were to ask you, "Do you feel safe in your body?" How would you respond? Sure, you may think, I feed my body, I provide it with enough sleep most nights and I work out occasionally, but I mean emotional safety. Do you have an awareness of what causes you to feel unsafe in your body? Are you aware of the destructive ways in which you try to feel safe in your body? How do you achieve safety in your body? Safety is the starting point on one's Breathwork Journey. Being able to access safety within your body allows for the willingness to move forward in processing trauma and establishing, as well as maintaining healthy boundaries. The picture next to this column displays a superb effort of my 9 year old accessing safety within his body after a student in his classroom had a weapon at school. By Brain Training and Breathing, he stated feeling "more calm" and was able to flow with ease throughout the remainder of his school day. Just imagine, what would the world be like if we all felt safe within our bodies? During this fall season build safety within yourself and mention this article to receive 10% off 5 sessions. We all deserve to feel safe within our bodies, within our minds. | | |

I love being a Well-Being Life Coach and Breathworker! My clients experience my passion and those close to me experience my transformation firsthand. One aspect of my business that I absolutely love, is building a relationship with clients 1-on-1. We get to know each other so well and mutually learn from one another. The power dynamic dissipates and as one heals and transforms, the other heals and transforms. My mentor always said, "When we heal ourselves with love, those around us heal with love." This can be found in A Course in Miracles, Lesson 137. I recently shared in session how I have worked so hard to heal myself of migraines. From experiencing them weekly, to now twice a year, I worked to slow the drip of adrenaline being released in my body, I balanced my hormones, incorporated daily Breathwork along with weekly, hourly Breathes and became a close observer of my thoughts. Then, BAM...a migraine hit! After reflecting upon the way in which I was interacting with life, it was easy to see that I became out of balance. I let aspects of my routine go. I became less gentle with my physical self and even more less gentle with my thoughts. l fell back into a performance-based mentality. I realized through this mess, there was a message. The Universe is good about sending you messages when you become out of balance. At first you experience a slight tug at your heart (Tiffany, sit down and play with your kids). Then, the Universe gets a little louder (My husband stating, "Tiffany, I know you have some big things coming up, but you have been very serious lately. I miss your playfulness."). And finally, a sign that you can't escape (For me, it was the migraine). I used the remainder of the day to breathe. I surrounded myself with family. I snuggled. I hydrated. I went to bed early. I told myself, "I am good enough and my performance does not determine my worth or value." I gave myself grace. I got back into the flow and reminded myself that Life supports me. Then I received this support through daily experiences and interactions! I know I am not perfect, and I am growing more accepting of this thought daily. I am, however; willing to listen to my body and find the message within the mess. What about you? |
