Rewild My Street wild makeover tip: August

Increase your planting area with green roofs and walls. A planted roof will beautify a bin store, cycle store or shed, while providing habitat for invertebrates. For the simplest version, grow a climbing plant, such as jasmine or passion flower, over a garden building, fence or wall. Or try a pocket planter filled with drought-tolerant herbs, such as thyme and rosemary. On buildings greenery can add shading and insulation, keeping your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
