Happy Holidays! I don't have much in this newsletter, but I still wanted to give you all a brief update on my progress with TPoSS Book #1 and my new WIP! |

The Promise of Shattered Stars (#1) I've finished up my biggest developmental edits, so now I'm simply working on line edits and the smaller little changes to make sure everything is smooth! My goal is to start querying again in January, but the more I work on book 2, the more I want to go the indie pub route. Sigh. So many decisions. Ha. I'll keep y'all in the loop, of course! |

As I've finished Jessica Brody's Fast Drafting course, I've been itching to start a new WIP, and with all the revisions and such for TPoSS, I haven't gotten a chance to do so. Therefore, I've worked it out where I'll be fast drafting from January to the end of March of 2021! But I have a problem. With the three ideas I have that are at the point where they can be drafted, I don't know which to choose. SIGH. I just want to write them ALL. At the same time. That's where you come in. Vote on your favorite WIP idea by clicking the button below. Whichever idea has the most votes is the one I'll be fast drafting starting JANUARY 1st! If you want to know more about the WIP ideas, I'll be putting the rough blurbs below, too :) |

Attacking the Cruxi Empire’s shipments on the Edge, the borderlands where insurgent groups roam, Noemi has honed her hacking skills only to botch her first solo mission. With the failure of her phasing ability, Noemi’s mistake leads the Cruxi to capture her pirate crew for harboring a fugitive. To save them, Noemi sneaks aboard a government ship and tries to hack into the system and save her friends. However, once aboard, she finds her childhood playmate, now captain of the Cruxi ship, Jean SaFaille, has been instructed to find all rogue Phasers and bring them to the capital planet, Astraeus. Upon arrival, Noemi discovers the Cruxi want to use her ability for a weapon that can alter time and space. With Jean’s help, she escapes and flees into the slums where they must figure out a way to save not only their own lives but the lives of everyone on the Edge. But what awaits Noemi isn’t victory. No, it’s the decision between staying true to her cause and saving the man she loves. |

PROJECT ALCHEMY YA Fantasy (specifically Grimdark) Half a King x Six of Crows The kingdom of Avolire knew that after failing to protect the last dragon, all of Thallán would be hungry for their destruction. What the Avolirans didn’t expect was a fiery betrayal from one of their own. Nearly ten years after the deadly firesalt inferno devoured his childhood home of Avia, Dante Dolabella has buried any hint of his past, but he's an Avoliran to the core, which might've been the reason for joining a Robin Hood-esque gang called the Brotherhood in the dingy port city of Galecross. As second-in-command, he does everything in his power to fool people into believing the lies he tells about himself. He's made a habit of staying one step ahead of his enemies, something that began years before when his father abandoned him in a foreign orphanage. |

Accidentally killing her foster family using the same illegal magic that burned Avia a decade before, displaced princess Gwenivare Santora and her brother, Gavriel, flee to Galecross. But the city isn’t without its own dangers. Avoiding Blackswords who do the bidding of the usurper king and the gang wars plaguing the city’s Underworld are just a two of the challenges facing the lost royals. While Gwen and her brother team up with a handsome gang lord intent on robbing the rich to give to the poor, that protection doesn’t last long. What unfolds might not only alter both Gwen and Dante’s lives but unravel mysteries better left buried beneath the ash. |

Click on the pics to purchase the books! I talked about Nightwing in my last newsletter, so I won't repeat myself, but I'm LOVING it thus far. Which isn't a surprise, lol. Theft of Swords is a reread for me, and I've been listening to it on audiobook. AKLDSFJALSDF I've forgotten how my I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. SO much. Hadrian Blackwater, one of the MCs, is one of my all-time favorite book characters. Ever. He's right up there with Kaladin from Sanderson's Stormlight Archive and Vin & Elend from Sanderson's Mistborn series. If you haven't read Theft of Swords and you like Six of Crows, Brandon Sanderson, and sword & sorcery type fantasy, you will LOVE it as much as I do. It has a slightly light-hearted tone, but the more you read, you begin to see the more serious themes and emotional moments really do make up the story. Okay. I'm done gushing. Just read it. You won't be disappointed. JK. One more thing. ToS is actually the omnibus edition of Sullivan's first two books in the series. Inside you'll find both The Crown Conspiracy (book 1) and Avempartha (book 2). In other news, I finished Brandon Sanderson's Rhythm of War last week. And I cried. It was SO good. If you've been on the fence about starting Stormlight, DO IT. Now I have to wait (impatiently) for book 5. Which won't be out for three years. Sob. |
