My family is from the Midwest. Some of you might remember we screened Return To Hardwick in Jefferson City, MO back in August. We ended up packing the theater with people and was lucky enough to get my 94 year old grandmother to join us! |

It will be great to fly out this week and attend the 19th annual Kansas International Film Festival near Kansas City. We have been lucky enough to get into a few film festivals this year and this is another one we are proud to be a part of. The staff at KIFF has been in constant communication with us and could not be more helpful in making sure we have everything ready for our screening. |
Over 150 films will be screened at the week long event |
Here is a little about the festival from online: Filmmakers from around the world submit their work and attend our festival because of its storied history and reputation for celebrating filmmakers with Midwestern roots and beyond. While KIFF attracts Academy Award-winning films, provides major networking opportunities and large events drawing community awareness, the festival never loses site of its roots, which are the local art, music and film communities that support each other. |
Currently I live in New York City but it begs the question if my mid-western roots might have had an influence here. Will I ever find out? - probably not. I'd like to think that the film was selected for its excellent (pat on the back here) filmmaking and honest storytelling - right?? Shall we say everyone is always looking for a good story? MID-WEST BOY MAKES WWII DOCUMENTARY - now that could sell some tickets. Come on out and see the 93rd Bomb Group's story if you are in the area. Michael Sellers Producer/Director Return To Hardwick |

SUCCESS IN SEATTLE Wow! What an awesome time in Seattle at the Museum of Flight screening of Return To Hardwick. Not only was director Michael Sellers in attendance but Hardwick narrator and Hollywood actor Michael Cudlitz was there too. |

Michael Cudlitz was gracious enough to leave a late night editing session in Los Angeles (he is currently directing a spin-off series of The Walking Dead) and take an early flight the next day up to Seattle to attend the screening. The museum representatives took us on a tour of the Space Shuttle trainer they have in one of their hangars. It's a full-scale mockup of the space shuttle orbiter — without the wings. It was used as a test bed for upgrades to the shuttle fleet and for astronaut training such as extra-vehicular activity (EVA) and emergency egress. |

We then got extremely lucky to visit with WWII veteran Dick Nelms. Dick was a pilot in a B-17 over Europe during the war. The museum told us that he shows up every Saturday to stand by the 17 and talk with visitors about his experience. Everyone in our group told Dick that, "It's cold out here - how do you do it?" He replied, "You have no idea." |

The screening was in the afternoon and it was great to see so many people show up. Director Michael Sellers introduced the film and then brought Michael Cudlitz up after the screening for a Q&A session. |
As a bonus we had 93rd Bomb Group President Jim Root in town. He said a few words at the screening and presented some more information on the 93rd and their accomplishments during the war. |
