Are We There Yet?! | FOH Spotlight | Brewers for Delaware River |

Hey, Y'all! We've got news! Below you'll read about our Front of House Manager, learn about a fresh new partnership with like-minded folks and see what's up with the local Pink Boots Society chapter. Fun things are on the horizon. |

Now for the important news. We now have our Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) license and can legally make beer!!! It is a considerable hurdle cleared, and thus we have brewed a few times, and we're actively working to fill all the fermenters. Mmmmm, beer. Pictured above, a sample of our first brewed beer on our fancy professional system, Tim hosing down the brewhouse, and Mackenzie showing off her colorful cocktail entry. We also had a cocktail competition to determine what will be on our cocktail menu. Our brewpub license allows us to sell Pennsylvania-made cider, wine, and spirits in addition to the beer we brew, so we set out to test the waters and do some team-building at the same time. The results? You'll have to wait until opening day for all of the details, but you can expect a seasonal cocktail rotation and a twist on a few classics. Thank you for your patience, we are now headed back to brewing all the beer. It's just a short matter of time now until we open our doors to the public. Expect a grand opening date soon. |

Spotlight on Front of House Manager Dave Schloegel |
David was born and raised in Philadelphia, earning a degree in Accounting from Temple University and having a penchant for all things food. This intense love of food has manifested by working around food his entire life. He grew up working at a farmer’s market, after which he worked in a broad spectrum of food-related and management positions from being a chef at the Bay Pony Inn to most recently clocking fifteen years as a manager at Whole Foods. He's a fermentation fan from sourdough to siracha and has over fifteen years of homebrewing under his belt. He has a long history of supporting local industry and sustainable agriculture. David brings a strong focus on a team-based atmosphere, and a cool-as-a-cucumber approach. When David is not at work, you will find him working on his homestead where he raises ducks and has his own registered dairy goat herd. He is an avid gardener and is currently working towards becoming a Master Gardener. David brings a lot to the Tannery Run. Expect a strong team mentality so we can deliver the best experience for our customers and the local community. |

Brewers for the Delaware River |
Our brewery and community are located in the Delaware River Watershed, and our business relies on clean, reliable water sourced from the watershed. That’s why we are excited to announce our involvement with Audubon’s Brewers for the Delaware River Association. By joining forces with Audubon, we as local brewers are striving to create a unified voice to advocate for the Delaware River Watershed and the people, businesses, and birds that depend on it. Check out Carly's quote in the press release.

Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day is around the corner, and our local chapter is fortunate to be brewing at Love City. Separately, Tannery Run will be brewing a beer made with the Pink Boots Hops 2019 blend from Yakima Chief (Loral, Glacier, Mosaic, Sabro, and Simcoe) and a portion of the sales of that beer will be donated to the group. Look for our Pink Boots tap handle when we open and support this great organization by having a pint. Future chapter plans include a Women in Brewing beer festival, and Over the Hop Ladies Arm Wrestling event in conjunction with Philly Loves Beer. Who's going to win? I'm betting on the Tannery Run Deadly Dragon champion. Huzzah!
