writing in an airplane

It’s November, the month I start many of my novels. That’s because of NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month. This is an international event that happens online and in coffee shops around the world. The goal is to write 50,000 words in a month (most of my novels are around 75,000 words). I’ve participated and been successful the last five years.

This year, I'll finish Tequila Midnight's sequel.

I love the camaraderie of NaNo. One of my favorite stories is the the Korean guys who showed up to 6 a.m. North San Diego County online writing sessions because it was a good time for them to write after work.

It’s been nice to have a few in-person meetings again post-COVID.

Speaking of in-person, the reason I’m writing on a plane is that I’m on my way to Las Vegas for a big writing/publishing conference. I can’t wait to uncover new ideas and meet other authors and publishers. NaNo plus a conference makes for a busy week, but when it's about writing, I’m game.
