As mentioned in my Insta Stories, we are having a baby in July! We're excited and ready to meet baby girl (codename: Decima). My husband and I decided it was easiest to come up with "codenames" for our babies before we finalized actual names, so lucky you, you get to find out baby girl's, haha. Baby Boy was Spartacus. Yes, we do indeed think we're hilarious with our Ancient Roman theme. Anyway, I'm 16 weeks along now and feeling much better nausea-wise, so I'm quite thankful for that. However, I do still need midday naps, haha. Ahem...now let's move on to book & social media news! |

Currently, I'm working through developmental edits. I was super excited to get those back and realize that what I thought might need bigger fixes were things I did in fact need to revise. I already had a pseudo-plan in place for making them happen if there was a chance I wasn't overthinking the story. Now, I'm trying to put everything into place so I can get this baby off to my line editor in March! SO close. I won't go into too many details with the edits themselves, BUT I will say that I'm adding one new Point of View with the distinct possibility of adding a second. You'll have Kase, Hallie, and Jove per usual, yes. However, you'll also be getting three small chapters from Clara (Jove's wife) as well as a few from Saldr (the Yalven ambassador/emissary from book 1). Clara's scenes/chaps are almost ready to go. I just need to write Saldr's. I'm mainly using these PoVs to flesh out other storylines and give you a little insight to their characters. |

With Clara in particular, I was really interested in exploring what it would be like to have her voice in this book because not only is she a pregnant woman with the world on the brink of war, but she's also the wife of someone in the midst of everything--yet she's just a little removed. She doesn't have a huge role in the story at large, but she adds another layer that was definitely needed. With all that being said, I'm still pushing for a early summer release date, and at the moment, I'm on schedule to get there. Keep your fingers crossed we stay that way, haha! |

I haven't really made much progress with book 3 over the last few months even though I was planning to fast draft it in November. That didn't happen, obviously. The outline is done, and I have the cover art. I also have two potential titles. And yes, both titles are also alliterations. My goal is to fast draft this one while book 2 is with my line editor. We shall see though! I'd like to have a completed first draft by the time Decima comes, but I'm not going to stress out about it. Family comes first! |

I'm still unsure of how I would like to balance social media with writing and real life. I enjoy marketing my book--especially making aesthetics. However, many of you also feel the drain it takes on us all and our time. SO I'm still planning to be on Insta and TikTok because I enjoy interacting with all y'all out there and making content, BUT I won't be on as much. With a baby on the way and a toddler just now starting to walk, my time to devote to social media is minimal. In the free time I do have, I'd rather be writing books for you to read. With that being said, I don't know what I want to do with my YouTube channel. That's a social media platform I actually really enjoy except it eats up the most time if I want to do it well. My idea is to try and do a monthly/quarterly update type thing to keep it alive with the possibility of other videos when I have the time (I have a rather large running list in my phone of all the video ideas I have haha). Either way, I promise I'm still here even if you don't see me as often on socials! |
