We are in uncharted waters. COVID-19 is present nearly everywhere, and our community has been severely impacted the most. The rents have also not been cancelled and low-income families need money to keep the roof over their heads. In partnership with the Robin Hood Foundation and The New York Community Trust, P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. is providing a one-time COVID-19 rent relief grant to low income residents living in Manhattanville, Hamilton Heights, Harlem, and Washington Heights. Residents are encouraged to apply. |

In partnership with Deputy Commissioner Woody Pascal of NY Homes & Community Renewal, P.A.’L.A.N.T.E. held its second Zoom Webinar to help renters living in rent stabilized and rent control apartments understand the new rent laws that were passed last year. If you are a tenant living in a rent stabilized building, be sure to take time to view the recording and download our whitepaper here. |

Thanks to the team of Columbia University administrators that continue to support P.A.’L.A.N.T.E.’s work through donations of household appliances, office furniture, grants for P.A.’L.A.N.T.E.’s annual Demystifying Housing Conference and most recently for COVID-19 Relief. We are extremely grateful for their generosity and for their recent donation to provide culturally competent groceries to our seniors while supporting our local supermarket Papasito in West Harlem. Through the generosity of the owner of Papasito, we were able to apply every penny received on groceries and the door-to-door delivery service to each senior citizen was provided in-kind by the magnificent small business owner of this supermarket. If you happen to pass by 3605 Broadway (Between 148 & 149 Street), be sure to visit the supermarket and don’t forget to thank them for their generosity. |
