1. Border with Soup cans--200 stitches per row. Warhol loved multiples, hence the many images of soup cans!

2. Working on the first row of faces--sometimes I get so hyper focused I can spend 18 hoursa day knitting!

3. The back side of the work with all the threads hanging--I try to keep them woven in as I go but there is still a lot of tangling!

4. Attaching the sleeves. Finished the pockets and second row of faces. I love watching the faces emerge!

5. I typically work the body of the sweater in one piece so as to avoid seams along the sides of the work.

6. Working on the 3rd row of faces now and it is beginning to look like a sweater.

7. Shaping the neck and shoulders.

8. Creating the Collar (there are almost 10,000 stitches in the collar).

9. Knitters love to see the inside of a work. I try to keep my knitting very neat! I did something new this time and signed and dated by embroidering inside the pocket.

Below is a little video demonstrating how the pockets work.  If you look closely you can see I am pulling out a tiny mitten--the tweezers grab it by the thumb.

Museum Hair!

What would Marilyn think?! She, so sublime and me so frizzy! Well, it was a windy day in the windy city--that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

The Warhol 2.0 comes  after seeing the amazing Warhol exhibit at the Art Institue of Chicago: "ANDY WARHOL—FROM A TO B AND BACK AGAIN"

This is my second "Ode" to Warhol. I created the first version 13 years ago. That version had four Marilyn faces on the back of the sweater. This time, I was able to get nine faces on the back.

Warhol 2.0 reflects 13 additional years of experience and the advancement of my technical abilities
