CCCHS APRIL NEWSLETTER Breakfast, Books & More... Check out what's going on in our community! |

GREETINGS CCCHS! It was so great to see such a large turnout at our last two membership meetings! We're so lucky to have such a large network of people doing amazing work in our community. We would love to continue to grow this network so if you know someone who's not a member of council, have them check out our website and share with them the many benefits of being a council member. Many of you have already renewed your membership for 2019. We will continue to accept memberships throughout the year. If you have any questions regarding your membership or need assistance, contact Calvin Miller, Membership Chair, at cmiller@susumc.org. We look forward to seeing many of you at the annual Rose Cologne Volunteer Dinner on April 16, 2019. Named in honor of Dr. Rose Cologne, a mentor and role model for many in the human services field, the dinner pays tribute to those volunteers who work to further the mission of CCCHS member agencies. Please join us on April 3, 2019 at 12pm at Calvary Church for our monthly membership meeting. CCCHS Board is happy to welcome Carol King, Partnership Specialist with the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Census, to provide a presentation about the Census and how it impacts human services. Hope to see you all there! Heather Moran CCCHS President Regional Director, Peerstar, LLC |

New Referral Process to Link Job Seekers with Community Partners at PA CareerLinks® Dear Community Partner: PA CareerLink® Centre County is taking part in a new referral program to expedite workflow and better meet the needs of Pennsylvanians. The goal of the program is to increase both efficiency and outreach by helping individuals find and connect with all the local resources available to them. Examples of resources our jobseekers may require include housing/shelter, food, mental health services, drug counseling, legal assistance, child care, transportation, and more. The referral program will make connecting with other programs easier through the use of automated emails and notification features. Further, it allows for easy back and forth communication between the Workforce staff member and the referral program contact. An example of the referral email Community Partners will receive from PA CareerLink® is attached. All community partners and relevant human service agencies can be included in our new automated referral system. To have your contact information included, please complete the attached form, then scan and email it to jafitzgerald@tiu11.org. If your agency houses more than one program to which referrals can be made, please complete a form for each program and the appropriate contact information for that program. Questions? Please call us! 814-548-7587 x238. Respectfully, PA CareerLink® Centre County |

|
Dr. Joel N. Myers, founder and chairman of the Dads' Resource Center, and Jeff Steiner, Executive Director of the Dads' Resource Center, have accepted key volunteer roles in the Symposium Organizing Committee (SOC) convened by the Strong Families Commission and chaired by the Reverend Dr. W. Wilson Goode, Sr., former Mayor of the City of Philadelphia. Dr. Myers will serve as the Advocate and Champion for Greater Father Involvement in the lives of children and families and Jeff Steiner will serve on the SOC Leadership Council as council member at-large. The SOC works with Commonwealth leaders to eliminate systemic barriers that impede greater father involvement and their contributions to the well-being of their children and families. SOC encourages executive opinion leaders, policy makers, and child and family service providers to embrace and support the contributions that fathers can make to their children, families and communities." The DRC is committed to providing education, resources and advocacy for dads who are separated or divorced and are determined to uphold their sacred responsibility as fathers.
