Those who know me, know how much I love Henry James. (This is his famous portrait painted by John Singer Sargent.) As a member of the Henry James Society, I recently sent in a proposal for a presentation at the society's annual conference--in July, in Trieste--and just received the news: We're going to Trieste! My colleague, Paula Marantz Cohen of Drexel University, will join me in presenting "The Ventriloquists: Sounding Like Henry James in Contemporary Fiction."
