Hi everyone,
Summer is in full swing, and if you're anything like me, then you cannot wait for a little break from the heat 🥵 If you've caught me at any of the shows this month, then you know that by about three songs in, it looks like I'm in the middle of a shower 🤦🏼♂️
Other than that, life has been great! This newsletter is coming a little late because I just got back this week from visiting family in Switzerland. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting my dear friend and producer Phil Merk. It was incredible to be back together in his studio to have a listen to my first solo album, which is finished and coming soon. What I can say about the music is that it is EXACTLY where I want it to be, and I cannot wait to start unloading some of it to you this fall!
Here are some things to look out for this month:
Saturday I am playing a rare solo show at Victus Coffee in Hartford, CT. Directly after, I am hopping in the car and driving up to Maine for a late night set of music with On the Trail at the Ossipee Valley Music Festival. For other shows, here is a link to my shows page. Subscribe to get updates every time I add a show so you don't miss out on anything this summer.
I'm in the process of filling up my teaching schedule for the late summer/fall, so contact me if you're looking for lessons! I offer a free trial lesson to all new students in the Services section of my website. Please share with anyone you know who may be looking for lessons, or sign up for one yourself! Other services are available, so feel free to reach out for more information.
I've been so moved by those who have unexpectedly donated finances as a way to show support the last few months! Click here if you'd like to support me and thank you so much to those that have sent a little something my way. Every bit counts towards getting my new music out!
I'm learning more and more that if I'm looking for a life that doesn't feel like an uphill battle all the time, then I'm searching for something that doesn't exist. To paraphrase Victor Frankl, there is no such thing as a life without suffering. The way that I recontextualize the harder moments of a career in music is by remembering that it is a PRIVILEGE to make music for a living and to get to share my passions on a regular basis with people that want to engage. There is so much music to come in the fall, and I can't wait to get it to you. Hope to see you at a show or two sometime soon ❤️
With love,
Charlie
