Home Stretch in Stories

One of the great privileges of working on the Community of Practice is that we get to hear some of the great stories of work being done across the state with young people receiving support from Home Stretch WA.

During this week's Coaches' Community Drop-in we heard about:

  • the work being done in Kununurra by the MG-Corp team in modelling positive relationships and strengthening a young person's connection to the community

  • a young artist being supported by the Yorganop team in Boorloo (Perth) to start her own business and sell her artwork

  • Mission Australia in Bunbury taking a whole team approach to supporting twins with complex needs and their carer

This week has also seen another young person age-out from the Home Stretch Trial who had this to say about her experience of working with Coach Hayley:

"Thank you for all that you have done for me the past few years...

It was awesome meeting you and getting to know you.

You have taught me a lot and the confidence I have now is thanks to you!"

The wins we experience as Home Stretch providers, no matter the size, are what keep us energised and inspired so if you have any stories or experiences to share with us when we chat next or in the forum.
