3 very important reasons why MAY MATTERS! |
|
|
#1 MAY GRAY BRAIN TUMOR AWARENESS We have less than 3 weeks to honor our brain tumor condition with our fellow companions. This can be a scary month for some to face, it was at first for me too. Years ago, I could not allow myself to admit I was legit in the brain tumor club. I have since changed my thinking and now really embrace it as an opportunity to share my story of survivorship, triumph, and let's be real, plenty of disappointment as it comes with stuff we simply don't want to face. I take this whole month to feel ALL THE FEELS and share my story with pride. I ask that you do the same. Consider ways you can share, spread awareness, and contribute to the cause. Start by getting your own WE ARE THE FACES OF MAY GRAY profile pic that I will personally make for you. Please gift $5 or more to USC Brain Tumor Research and then forward me the receipt and a picture. I will get your pic emailed out to you within 24-48 hours. Please help us turn social media GRAY this MAY! |

#2 MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH For those of you who don't know, I am very passionate about mental health awareness and work in this field as a Director of Operations at Ketamine Clinics Los Angeles. I have the privilege of leading a team of compassionate medical professionals who provide life-saving treatment every day to patients who struggle with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, suicidal ideation, postpartum, and other mood disorders. Ketamine Infusion Therapy really works and when done correctly, the relief is long-lasting and better than the alternatives. If you care to learn more you can check out information on my company's website. Anyone at my clinic is happy to discuss this with you, my team is wonderful! |

#3 MAY IS MOTHERS DAY 90% of the patients I talk to with this diagnosis are women. This tells me that many mothers and grandmothers must manage this condition in addition to their rather demanding mother role. I want to take this moment to acknowledge you and your fight for survivorship. I know this journey is not easy, it comes with uncertainty, and when you are responsible for children on top of that, the stressors are even higher. My hope is you enjoy your special day. Despite the challenges, it is wonderful to be alive to celebrate the fabulous you on Mother's Day! |

BTC set a goal to raise $50,000 for brain tumor research at USC. This is a giant undertaking and we only have until October 1st to do it. The quality of care and types of advancements available at USC align with what our community needs access to. Check out our recent Educational Zoom #5 with Dr. Zada. Here you will learn more about what their center offers and why this funding is so important. If you want to help us fundraise, please reply to this email. I am happy to assist you with all the tools you need to get going. Do not be shy to ask your friends, family, colleagues, classmates, and neighbors. People in our lives don't always know how to be there for us on this journey, but they can feel good about giving a tax-deductible gift in our honor. You can add yourself as a CHAMPION on our team and start your own fundraiser and goal. Your participation would mean so much! Start here: bit.ly/DOSBTC |
