The Gamma Nus

Starting Winter Term 2019

Welcome to the return of the Gamma Nus. Back on campus, our colony is currently 41 members strong, with 15 living in 700 Oxford, and expecting a large recruitment period in Winter 2020, after Michigan's first deferred rush (for freshman) in Fall 2019.

We are proud to share our progress to date.

NEW OFFICERS

With the beginning of a new year, the Gamma Nu colony just elected its second group of officers. The 2020 contingent will build off the great and hard work done by the previous officers in preparation for chartering.

Thanks to all the officers who stepped up to the plate last year and invested their time and energy into re-establishing Sigma Nu on campus. Congrats to the new officers!

ALUMNI ADVISORY BOARD

Much sweat equity, time and money has been given to get the House back to a livable condition before re-occupying it. A group of Alumni volunteers works together as mentors and to provide guidance for the Sigma Nu Colony as we work toward Re-Chartering. Bi-weekly conference calls are made. Phil Micali had led us as AAB Chairman and Chapter Advisor since August 2018, and now Mike Thwaites is taking the torch as AAB Chairman and our Resident Advisor, Don Romano, will serve as Chapter Advisor.  We continue to be well supported, and would love your involvement to connect with us.  If you would like to be a part of this group and have time to volunteer, we would love to have you!

Please contact Mike Thwaites at thwaitesm@bellsouth.net or call

404-455-8847 if you would like to be a part of history being made at 700 Oxford.

HOCKEY & HOOPS ALUMNI WEEKEND

Get your spirit wear ready for Hockey Hoops weekend. From February 7 to February 9, come see all of your brothers as you all enjoy a night out to watch Michigan crush Wisconsin for the Hockey game on Friday night at 7:00 PM ET; all the brothers will meet at Ashley’s at 5:30 PM before the game.

The next day, come hang out at the house at 11:00 AM and enjoy pizza and barbecue with the Basketball game on the big screen: let us all rejoice as Michigan beats MSU once more. A special activity is also planned for all of the brothers to enjoy and bond over. If you don’t want to miss out and are interested in joining the fun, contact Rockey Carter at 978-502-5984‬ or keithcarter@yahoo.com in order to order tickets for the Hockey game or for more details. Go Blue!

LOOKING FOR THE GARGOYLES

We are looking for any of the missing Dining Room Gargoyles. Alum, Mike Kolbrener, has offered to replicate and replace them if a somewhat intact one can be found. I have heard through the grapevine that a Gargoyle or two had been saved.

Please contact Mike Thwaites at thwaitesm@bellsouth.net or call

404-455-8847 if you have one or know where one is.

HAVE ANY ARTIFACTS?

We are looking for any old Sigma Nu relics, artifacts, or composites that may have been saved from the House.

If you have any of these please contact Mike Thwaites at thwaitesm@bellsouth.net or call 404-455-8847.

We are looking to bring them HOME!
