Review

Tanya Chianese was chosen as one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch" for 2019.

Readymade (2016) was toured and presented by the Aspen Fringe Festival (Aspen, CO), where we were featured in three of the local publications and received a glowing audience response.

Nevertheless premiered at CounterPulse (San Francisco, CA) with 6 dancers and 9 singers, commissioned costume and lighting design, and a kickass collaboration with guest group Cat Call Choir.

We had the pleasure to collaborate with new dancers Nina Wu, Kalani Hicks, Allegra Bautista, and Katherine Neumann.

Tanya Chianese traveled to Guatemala for two weeks as guest choreographer and mentor with JUNTOS Collective.

We co-produced an evening of national dance voices in Denver, CO.

We facilitated the 70th ODC Pilot Program, presenting work alongside 5 choreographers.

We were commissioned at The College Preparatory School (Oakland, CA), new work premiering in April 2019.

We received generous grants from Dancers' Group (CA$H grant) and Zellerbach Family Foundation.

We held an audition where 67 remarkable artists showed up. (If only we had the means to hire everyone...)

We completed the inaugural Frank Shawl Artist-in-Residence at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center (Berkeley, CA).

Tanya Chianese was chosen as one of the San Francisco magazine's "1 00 Artists Putting the East Bay on the Map"

We were commissioned by the Shawl-Anderson Youth Ensemble to set new work on pre-professional students.

At our other job (it's all connected...), we helped establish the Ballet Performance Group, which was featured in Dance Magazine, at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center.

We celebrated composer Michael Wall, alongside a slew of Bay Area choreographers, by creating new work to his masterpieces in October 2018.

We received a phone call endorsement from Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Thank you universe!

Support is a beautiful, invaluable thing.
