Intention January 2024 Newsletter |

Happy January, Art and Design Friends!I hope the new year has been fruitful and invigorating for you. January is my time to set positive intentions and avoid the R-word (whisper: resolution). Have you made any? To me, intentions are soft, qualitative, and compassionate – the kinder, gentler version of their harshly defined cousin, "Resolution." My intention this year is to be more expressive and productive in my art, more organized in my schedule, and embrace my favorite outdoor activities often and with joy. All these goals will help me embrace beauty and art with a schedule that allows time to breathe. How will you live with intention this year? Warmly, Cindy P.S. Spurline Morning You know that feeling after a good hike or bike ride outside when you think, “Oh, MAN! I should do this every day!”? In that moment, the air seems clearer, the sky bluer, and the path in front of you clearer. I love mountain biking, but have always been cautious in my pursuit. Spurline Trail in Three Springs is my happy place… a non-intimidating difficulty level of 3/10. I intend to become bolder and more skilled at biking this year, so I signed up for this spring's women’s mountain bike workshop… four months early! I’m committed to pushing my limits in 2024. |

Carrot Coconut Bisque I think I ate nearly my body weight this holiday season in Christmas sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting (totally worth it!). As my grandmother wisely said, everything in moderation... including moderation! It’s my current intention to enjoy some serious vegetables. This Carrot Coconut Bisque is a nutritional powerhouse, and a warm winter hug in a bowl. Bon appétit! | | |

Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve Artist Residency I’m thrilled to announce that I have received a full scholarship for a week-long Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve Artist Residency in late March. I intend to spend a week focusing on my art process, pushing the boundaries of expression and technique. I'm beyond grateful for Peggy and Lee Cloy's generosity and support of the arts. Stay tuned for a future art show featuring this new work! Willowtail Springs Nature Preserve and Education Center provides a backdrop where The Arts and Nature can integrate. The vast natural beauty, uniquely designed cabins, and gardens support the Artist’s intention, intimacy, and freedom. (I’m gathering inspirational meditations, podcasts, and yoga routines for my week at Willowtail. I’d love you to email me some of your favorites!) |
