Fireworks

If you've been to El Paso, you've likely seen the mountain range, the Franklin Mountains, that bisect the city. They are a Texas State Park and are a popular place for hiking and the views from the top can be incredible. You can see into Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico.

On New Year's Eve 2000, the start of a new millennium, many people thought computers would fail and the world would plunge into darkness. My husband and I decided to trek to the top of the mountain at midnight with a bottle of champagne. We figured we'd either get a fireworks show or we'd watch the lights go out.

The lights stayed on and the fireworks went off - it's one of my favorite memories of El Paso. Those were great fireworks from an excitement perspective, but the best fireworks I've ever seen were in Sydney, Australia on New Year's Eve 2020 (just a couple of months before the world actually shut down). What is your favorite fireworks show?
