NEWS & VIEWS

FINANCIAL GIVING The Parish Giving Scheme is our new online and phone-based system for financial giving to the church. If you use it, it will save us hours of work (for example, by automatically handling donations and Gift Aid) - a really big help to us. You will have full control of your giving - and there’s no need to deal with your bank. There are flyers at the back of church giving simple instructions - or go online to tinyurl.com/parish-giving for further information.

AUGUST LEAVE The only weekday Mass this week will be on Thursday as Fr Gareth takes the second part of his summer leave. He will be back for next Sunday’s services. Please speak to Fr Jacob (07906 718708 / baffour1962@btinternet.com) about any urgent pastoral matters and Keith / Margaret (on the Vicarage number) about any other matters.

PATRONAL FESTIVAL At 10am on Sunday 11 September we will celebrate the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary (transferred from the 8th) with a Festival Mass followed by a buffet lunch. This is an important occasion in the life of our church each year and we look forward to seeing all the church family together. Please see the list at the back of church which indicates the food donations we need for the buffet.

EDWARD ARTHUR FELLOWES PRYNNE on Saturday 1 October in St Peter’s Church Ealing, an art expert (and Director of the DeMorgan Foundation) is to give a talk on this late-Pre-Raphaelite artist. Commissioned in 1916 by his brother-in-law the Revd Hubert Valentine Eardley-Wilmot, then our Vicar, he painted our beautiful Stations of the Cross, and St Peter’s has a similar painting - Christ Before Pilate.
Go to tinyurl.com/EAFPArt or email admin@stpeterealing.org.uk for more information.
