Inner Focus

A Spiritual Bridge

We're in the Omer period now, that spiritual connection between Passover and Shavuot that solidifies the true meaning of our redemption from Egypt. We experienced not only a 'freedom from' but a 'freedom towards'. Towards a new relationship with each other in forming a new, united community and a new relationship with The Spiritual Oneness of the Universe. It wasn't easy.....and thousands of years later we seem to be struggling with the same issues of connection, faith, loyalty, kindness, compassion, and responsibility.

For me, counting the days of the Omer helps me realize the value and gift of each day. If you have never participated in counting the days between Pesach and Shavuot, you might decide to try it this year, to participate in the journey along with others...staking your claim as a member of the Jewish people.

Thank you for reading Inner Focus, my hope is that you will be refreshed and renewed, and even bring a bit more spirituality into your life. May it be so, keyn y'hi ratzon.

Thank you for reading, your responses are always welcome.

Inner Moments

Have you ever prepared a butternut squash? Take a close look at a the picture on the right. At the way the seeds are nested in cavity, safely in the bottom of the squash. Every seed is protected so that it can regenerate an entire new vegetable. Think about how many seeds are in each one....and how many can be produced from just one squash. Think about the beauty of this incredible creation....not only the miracle of new life contained within it, but how it tastes when it is prepared for us to eat. How it gives us so many vitamins and minerals. Think about how the world is set up as a place of abundance and generosity...and it is in our hands to make sure that we echo that capacity. How might you participate in the idea of generosity / nedivut in your own life? In what way might you contribute to abundance?

Blessed are You, God---Our God, Sovereign of the Universe,

Creator of numerous living beings and their needs---for all the things you have created with which to sustain the soul of every living being. Blessed are You, Life of the Worlds.
