What About that Bench?

Doesn't our new and improved median look GREAT?!  A Big THANKS goes to GVTH5 homeowners for supporting the project financially, and the efforts of homeowner Beverly Bobbitt, who coordinated the project with GV MedianGreen and the volunteer watering crew keeping our Median growing beautifully!

However, it’s now been suggested by several homeowners that we address "The Bench” because of its prominence on the Median and the desire for signage to identify our community.

Improvements to the bench were not included in the original Median project for a couple of reasons:

1) We needed to determine the ownership before we made any improvements. Because the bench proudly displayed the Kiwanis Club plaque we wanted their approval. We finally made contact with the current President of the Kiwanis Club of Green Valley, and have been permitted to make improvements. And,

2): In the initial Median Improvement plans submitted to Pima County by Median Green, the bench was axed.  It was only after a revision to the plans and a clarification as to the bench’s history on the property that it was allowed to stay in the plans.

So…now it’s up to you, our GVTH5 community, to choose which “improvement to the bench” we should do. Remember, there are no funds allocated to is project in the 2024 budget, however, it doesn't mean that we couldn't receive donations from the membership, or maybe even the Kiwanis for the improvements.

No improvement, leave the bench “as is”.
