Sock-a-Long Sunday, November 14th 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Unwind Yarn Shop (Second Sunday of each month) The November sock is None Plus Five Socks by Laura Fahlin. The story behind the socks: At the beginning of the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls, Lorelei goes to Luke’s for coffee: Lorelei: Please, Luke. Please, please, please. Luke: How many cups of coffee have you had this morning? Lorelei: None Luke: Plus Lorelei: Five, but yours is better. I think these cables (and twists within the cables) look like steam rising from one of Lorelei’s many cups of coffee. These socks are suitable for both men and women. Four sizes (S, M, L, & XL) are charted so you can make these socks for almost anyone. Yardage approx. 360 (380, 400, 420) yds.
The Monthly Sock-A-Long sessions are intended to be social gatherings open to experienced sock knitters. These sessions are not intended as a instructional classes. Susan is available as a facilitator to address questions. |

Our MissionCHARITY KNIT/CROCHET SESSIONS First Sunday of the Month 1-3 PM & Every Friday 10 AM - 12 PM Unwind collects donated for many charities. This newsletter we would like to share with you information about Knitted Knockers. Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast. Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, sweaty and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can’t be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. There is a huge demand for Knitted Knockers that can’t be met by any one group but together we can do it!

Stranded Fair Isle Knitting Class Thurs, Oct 28th, 6 - 8 PM Price: $20 Stranded Fair Isle is a method of color knitting in which two yarns are worked at the same time, with the yarn not in use stranded loosely across the wrong side of the piece. In this class you will be knitting with one color in your left and the other color in your right hand to create a two color pattern in your knitting. Once you are comfortable with the Fair Isle technique you can apply what you learned and make the Breckenridge Hat by Bobbie Intveld on the left or the Merry & Bright Hat by Mary Pranica on the right. |
