Over the past couple months, Sending Sunshine has grown even larger as we have added NINETEEN new members to the team! Starting us off are Heer, Ishma, Shahana, Arpita, and Gerald, all of whom have joined us as Merchandise Designers! Over the past few weeks, this group has been hard at work, using their creativity to create wonderful designs that can be found on items such as greeting cards and stickers in our Redbubble Shop. Next, we have our lovely Outreach Coordinators: Solange, Justin, Natasha, Lovejeet, and Amanpreet. These volunteers have been busy making phone calls to care facilities across the country. Because of their hard work, we are able to send cards to even more seniors in Canada. In terms of social media we first have Victoria, who is joining our team as the Pinterest Coordinator! Having been one of our previous Pinterest volunteers, Victoria has a wide range of experience with the platform and we are excited to see what new ideas she brings! Next, Adriana, Mia, Sydney, Tanya, Samantha, and Anika have joined as our TikTok Volunteers. This group of creative individuals have been posting engaging content on our TikTok for the past couple months. Finally, Evan and Logan have joined as our newest card sorters. They have been hard at working, helping to ensure that each card is counted and reviewed. A BIG welcome to all of our new volunteers, we are so excited to have you become part of our Sending Sunshine family! |

Sending Sunshine Chapters |
Since our last newsletter, we have launched something very exciting: Sending Sunshine Chapters! A “Chapter” allows people to take on a leadership position in their school or community by creating a local branch of our non-profit, ultimately helping Sending Sunshine spread joy to even more seniors. Chapter Leaders are in charge of numerous tasks such as: gaining participation of volunteers in their school or community to write cards, holding meetings and card writing events, promoting their chapter through various forms of media, and more! So far we have nine confirmed chapters in Ontario and four US states, and we are excited to see this program grow even more! If this sounds like something that would be of interest to you, sign up here to be a Chapter Leader in your community or school today! |

Did you know that Sending Sunshine is a not-for-profit corporation that operates 100% through the work of unpaid volunteers? We are a group of individuals who are passionate about helping seniors in our community and wish to see positivity spread to all corners of our country and beyond. Sending Sunshine's main expense is the shipping cost to mail card bundles to care facilities and senior organizations. We need funds and support to continue to send uplifting cards to isolated senior citizens. To date, we have delivered 52,000 cards, however we currently have limited funds and will not be able to financially support the mailing cost of these packages in the future. We would also like to keep expanding and spreading sunshine to as many seniors as possible. Sending Sunshine hopes to see a world in which every senior citizen will never feel alone. We hope to eventually expand our initiative internationally by sending cards to care facilities and organizations outside of Canada. All of this requires funds that we currently do not have so we would be grateful if you donated to Sending Sunshine and help us continue our initiative! Your donation will directly help us send uplifting cards to isolated senior citizens. Any proceeds and funds that we receive are beneficial to our cause and will positively impact isolated senior citizens across Canada. Although we are very grateful for receiving donations and grants so far, obtaining sponsorships has been more challenging due to COVID-19. Therefore, any donation amount would be helpful and greatly appreciated! *Note: As we are a registered not-for-profit corporation and not a charity, we are unable to provide tax receipts for any donation. |
