Facing the Pandemic

A Covid Mask Art Project

This project is designed to get your response, viewpoint or emotions to living through the Covid-19 global pandemic. What have you experienced since March 2020?

On August 20th, Mame McKee, Sarah-Lee Terrat, and MK Monley will be giving a talk about setting up the “After Irene - Floodgates Art Project” 9 years ago as a response to Tropical Storm Irene. Inspired by that exhibition, they have created an opportunity for a community art project in response to the pandemic.

Supplies will be available to make your own masks on these dates:

August 20th - Axel’s Gallery 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Opening Reception

"After Irene - The Floodgates Art Project Revisited"

August 26th - Table at the Farmer’s Market - 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

August 27th - Stowe Street Alley 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

August 28th - Stowe Street Alley 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The masks will be displayed initially in the Stowe Street alley and then in the Gallery Space at MakerSphere’s 30 Foundry Street location during the Waterbury Arts Fest, September 10th and 11th. This project is organized by MakerSphere with support from Revitalizing Waterbury.
