Hello everyone! Thank you so much for signing up to receive our monthly newsletters! We are incredibly excited to be able to share our story with so many of you and bring you with us as we begin this exciting new chapter of life. If you don’t know already, we are Expedition Media, a US based nonprofit that exists to empower other nonprofits, missionaries and ministries around the globe. To get to know the names behind the logo, we are Jon and Mandy Hedin. We are a Minnesota born-and-raised husband and wife photography/videography team with God given passions for missions and serving His kingdom! |

When we first met in March of 2019, Mandy was attending a missionary school in Bloomington Minnesota called Bethany Global University studying how to use videography and photography for ministry. That following fall, we both enrolled in their “LEAD” program which is a two-semester discipleship program with an emphasis on media. The first semester we focused on studying theology and videography. The second semester we moved to Guatemala for 3 months, putting those skills to practice. This is what sparked a love for the people of Guatemala! We built friendships with countless nonprofits and ministries whom all expressed a very deep need for tools to share the stories and testimonies of the lives being transformed in Guatemala. The need was prevalent. |

In March of 2020, our team had to quickly evacuate Guatemala due to the boarders closing from the Covid-19 Pandemic and the uncertainty of what was going on in the world. Shortly after returning to the US, we got a job working at Target in Minnesota anticipating the day we could go back. |

That summer, on August 15th of 2020, we got married! SCOREEEEE!!! We celebrated up north in Ely Minnesota with a small private ceremony and reception. We then moved to Apple Valley Minnesota to start our lives together amidst the confusion of Covid-19. The next 7 months were spent getting settled into our apartment, dreaming, and seeking God for what was to come next. As the months passed, God continued to put Guatemala on our hearts and showed us how we could use our passions and talents for partnering and equipping missionaries with the video and photo tools they need to share the Good News. |

In March of 2021, exactly one year after evacuating Guatemala in 2020, we were able to make a 1 week vison-trip back to Guatemala! It was so exciting to see our community and friends again! While we were there, we filmed several projects for Provee, Prince of Peace (a girls home), and a new ministry called Cuidare that was started by one of our Guatemalan friends. We came back from that trip knowing we were meant to take a bold step in our faith. *Below is one of the projects we filmed for Provee on that trip!* |

We came home determined. We left our day jobs and plunged in full force to begin preparing our move to Guatemala in October of 2021! We started our official nonprofit Expedition Media, sent out a first wave of post cards and got many of the main components in motion. |

This last month in July, our parents blessed us with an early anniversary present and brought us on an incredible trip to Europe! We got to see some of the most gorgeous places that are filled with rich history. We hiked and explored some of the most outstanding feats of Gods creation and took WAY too many photos! We are so thankful for them and everything they have done for us so far, they are a tremendous support and help through this whole process! |

That brings us to today! Back in the USA, we are stepping forward into a season of fundraising and support building. We are starting to build partnerships and are really looking forward to meeting with you all! We are extremely excited to share how God is leading us and making a way for this mission! We have already gained 12% of our needed monthly financial goal! Wa-hoooo!! |
