Hello!

Hope you and yours are well. I'm on the edge of my seat with the US election results, and thought a newsletter might snap me out of it. I doubt it will stop the obsessive refreshing of the BBC news page, but I'm going to give it try.

Stories About Penises

It's been almost a year since we published our debut anthology, Stories About Penises, and it's still a rockin good read. In honor of the anniversary, I decided to share my story from the anthology on our blog. It's called 'We're So Sorry'. And this is really where everything began. With me as a writer and a penis experience that I couldn't seem to forget. And a publishing company called Guts Publishing. The rest is history. If you'd like to read my story, click here.

Cyber Smut

Many thanks to Alex Carrigan for his review of Cyber Smut, recently published in Blue Nib Literary Magazine. Here's an excerpt:

"Despite the snicker-inducing title of the collection, ‘Cyber Smut’ isn’t interested in being purely erotic or smutty work. Many of the pieces in the collection address the ‘smut’ that comes from having a constant stream of information and media in our daily lives and how it changes the way we view our bodies and the bodies of those around us. In fact, many of the pieces in the collection read like the sort of tales that would have come about in the mid-20th Century when ‘The Twilight Zone’ and ‘The Outer Limits’ began to show some of our early fears and concerns about industrial and technological revolutions."

Euphoric Recall

Many thanks for your support of Euphoric Recall by Aidan Martin, the true story of a working-class lad in Livingston and his recovery from addiction and trauma. We are over the moon with the response from our readers. We've sold over 1000 copies. And, as of today, there are 122 reviews on Amazon and more on Goodreads.

Here's a review from today: "Hard hitting and raw from the start, a grim true life account of addiction in my home region of West Lothian. Aidan's storytelling and reflection are outstanding. I feel so proud of him for overcoming the darkness and letting us into his journey. The book is being passed round friends already, highly recommend"

We are so elated to read reviews like this, many thanks to all who have read the book and taken the time to write down their thoughts.

We need you.

Coming up in November
We have another event coming up on 27 November. It's a joint book launch to celebrate three books published by West Lothians - Euphoric Recall by Aidan Martin, Life in the Raws by Neil Findlay MSP, and a book (title forthcoming) by PMGJ Storybooks by Paul Walsh & Graeme Young. I'll send more details about that soon.

Call for Submissions

For the nonfiction writers, we're open for submissions and would love to read your story. To submit your work, send the first 5000 words, a one-page summary and your bio. For details visit our submissions page.

Sending Nudes anthology - we're still reading and reviewing and will be in touch with results soon. Thanks for your patience.

That's about it for now. Take good care of yourself, and fingers crossed the anxious wait for US election results comes to an end soon.

Stay well.

All best,

Julianne
