Shining Bright: A Recap of Our May Lamplighter Events! |
|
|
The Bridge Builder Collective's Omega Lamplighter Mentoring Program kicked off May with a dynamic duo of events – a refreshing hike and an insightful virtual session! Hike in the Heart of Nature: On Saturday, May 11th, our dedicated mentors and amazing mentees embarked on a fantastic adventure, venturing into the great outdoors for a memorable hike at Enterprise South Nature Park. The trails offered a scenic backdrop for exploration, with everyone enjoying the fresh air, calming nature sounds, and beautiful scenery. The camaraderie was strong as everyone walked, talked, and learned about the wonders of the local ecosystem. After conquering the trails, a well-deserved lunch provided a chance to refuel and share stories about the hike's highlights. It was a heartwarming sight to see the bonds of friendship and mentorship strengthen through this shared experience. Virtual Wisdom: "Parent's Just Don't Understand" The May festivities didn't stop there! We also hosted a virtual Zoom session on Wednesday, May 1, 2023 featuring guest speaker, Mr. Kendale Thomas. Mr. Thomas' engaging presentation explored the ever-present theme of "Parent's Just Don't Understand," offering valuable insights and fostering open communication between mentors and mentees. The session provided a platform for mentees to navigate these complex relationships and develop effective communication skills. Black History Month Trivia Triumph! And to top it all off, we crowned a Black History Month Trivia champion! Jason Locke displayed exceptional knowledge, taking home the top spot in our trivia challenge centered around [Insert Topic Here]. James was rewarded for his impressive historical recall with a well-deserved $10 Amazon Gift Card. The May Lamplighter events were a resounding success, promoting healthy activity, environmental appreciation, and insightful discussions within our program. We look forward to many more exciting adventures with our Omega Lamplighter family! |
