Cultural Permaculture

Use & Value Diversity is one of the Permaculture Principles. That means valuing biodiversity, multicultural diversity, crop diversity, food diversity, thereby honoring the diversity of all life on this planet.

In other words, we can co-create a culture of caring that shows compassion, benevolence and reverance. This is what permaculture is.

We will celebrate cultural diversity at Our Global Family Farm this fall with potlucks that honor the food traditions of our families, of our grandparents, of local indigenous native peoples, and all seasonal celebrations. Please come on the Second Sunday at 1pm to join in particiating in these celebrations of our interconnectedness.

3rd Annual Open Farm Day July 15th -16th welcomed a diverse collection of visitors

Open Farm Day was a wonderful way for the general public to come and see the farm and learn about the crop diversity we have at Our Global Family Farm Food Forest. There are now signs in each of the four corners of the garden that show examples of fruits, vegetables, herbs, roots, grains and legumes. Above is one of the signs. It is of beans that is in the Americas section of Our Global Family Farm. Come on out to see them!

Guests also enjoyed Gazpecho Soup made by Maryann Rutshaw on Saturday and Tom Kha Soup made by Lorienne Schchwenk on Sunday.
