COMMUNITY PRESENCE

Dr. Eric "Duke" McCaskill along with his wife Dr. Linda "Duchess" McCaskill, of Alpha and Omega Network of Ministries/ Institute, initiated the PAACT (Police and Concerned Citizens Together) initiative in 2014 to increase positive police presence in communities. As a part of their mission, they have come together to provide food insecurity relief in the Aqueduct as well as Sherwood Arms communities in Newport News, VA. 
We have had the honor of assisting them in their outreach efforts. On Halloween, we provided candy for the children and were able to distribute them to their smiling faces. For Thanksgiving, we were able to give 20 boxes packed with food, a bible, and handwritten cards thanks to Lighthouse Church of Glen Burnie, MD. These boxes were given to refugees from various countries staying in the Sherwood Arms community to include Afghanistan, Sudan, Myanmar, Cuba, and Vietnam. We also helped Alpha and Omega Ministries distribute the turkeys and abundance of groceries they were able to provide to both Aqueduct and Sherwood Arms.

GREAT NEWS!

We have just been accepted as a recipient for a grant from Community Knights in Newport News, VA of $1200 to distribute 65 coats to children in need. The plan is to distribute the same day PAACT will be doing their "Police and Teachers Presence with Presents" event so the community will be able to be blessed all around with coats, groceries, toys, and Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. We are extremely excited for this event happening on December 18th. 

WINTER 2021 CAMPING TRIP

We take our young men on 4 camping trips a year to allow them to find positive outlets in nature rather than turning to violence, alcohol, and drugs. We will be taking our Winter camping trip to the mountains of VA. We would love to include skiing in to this trip but need your help to make this happen!

The total cost to ski for each of our 6 mentees is $96 which covers the rental as well as a lift pass. We would also like to purchase ski pants which are $30 each. We have already reserved and paid for a cabin for the trip and need YOU in order to make their dreams become reality.
