Nora and I joined soprano Cora Gamelin-Osenbach for a challenging and rewarding recital that included music by Faure and Schubert as well as the premiere of the guitar, flute, and voice arrangement of April Twilight by Maryland composer, Garth Baxter. I also gave a number of solo recitals and lectures at the Charlottesville Guitar Festival, Rust Library in Leesburg, and Handley Library in Winchester, VA. |

Antietam–A Soldier's View I was happy to hear that music from my Garden Waltz project was used as underscoring for Antietam Broadband's recent documentary, "Antietam–A Soldier's View." This unique program shows scenic, pastoral views of present-day Antietam Battlefield with notations about the battle. The documentary can be viewed online at the Vimeo link provided. 81 Anatolian Folk Songs Guitarist and composer, Okay Ozdag, arranged 81 Anatolian folk songs for solo guitar and reached out to guitarists from around the world to make videos of the pieces. It is fascinating to hear the performances and see each person in a variety of settings across the globe. The piece I was assigned is called "Şu Karşıki Dağda Kar Var Duman Yok" which translates as "There is snow on the mountain but no smoke." It took a while to find the right space and time to make a video but then we had an unexpected snow day. I thought it would be a nice representation of my home in Maryland to add a couple of snow scenes to bookend my performance.
