In all the hoopla that comes with a book launch, it's been a challenge to get my "butt in the chair" to do the thing I love most about this vocation— writing. If I didn't know it before, I know it for certain now. Marketing is hard. The learning curve. The technology. The snail's pace for results. But I'm happy to say work has begun on book #2 A VERY CROWDED HOUSE, and it's my favorite part— revision. Having multiple complete manuscripts waiting in the wings is a HUGE blessing. That said, they all will require more blood, sweat, and tears before they are ready for their close-ups. Check out my website here for a teasing glimpse of the cover and a short blurb. This won't be the last time you hear me say it, but my upcoming stories are not rom-coms. They are fun and funny (IMO and others have said so too) with a love story (it's always a love story), but things go a bit darker, with a little mysterious head-scratching and maybe... the occasional dead body. But you'll laugh and swoon too. *fingers-crossed* xoxo, Kelly |

June 8 is Women's Fiction Day, and celebrations are taking place all week long. My critique partner Kyle Ann Robertson and I will be hosting a book chat this Wednesday, June 7, on FACEBOOK LIVE at noon ET. Pop in while having your lunch, your elevenses, or your morning coffee and ask us anything. Anyone on or off Facebook can "attend." My first book signing takes place at Bookmiser in Marietta, Georgia, on June 10 where Kyle and I will be together again this Saturday, but this time in person! We'll discuss our different pathways to publication, do some readings, and take questions. Check out Kyle's book, WHITE PICKET FENCES. Join us from 5:30-7 pm for this FREE event, but you do need to reserve seating here. You might notice the website got a facelift. That's something that will likely happen as I go from one book to another. A look that befits the story on the way to you lovely readers. Hard to say, really but I hope you'll roll with me through this work-in-progress. TMID reviews trickle in on the main socials and it never gets old. Not even the 1 STAR with no critique, criticism, or even a simple "meh." Check out what readers are saying on GoodReads, Amazon, and Barnes&Noble, and please add your own. The algorithm and I thank you.
**Please support local indie bookstores through sites like Bookshop.org ** **Buy links for multiple retailers or Barnes and Noble if The 'Zon isn't your jam or Amazon if it is.** |
