Topic 1 of 6 Change is in the air The arrival of Autumn finds many of us outside enjoying the softer sun and taking in the beauty of the changing colors. Research shows an increase in wellbeing from walking in natural settings and when exposed to appropriate levels of sun. Another aspect of the changing leaves and cooler temps is as a reminder that winter will follow soon. This recognition has me enjoying the glory of autumn while hiking and biking in part to build my fitness flywheel so i can continue to enjoy being outside during the upcoming winter months. Let's celebrate autumn by spending a bit more time outside taking in the colors and noticing the speed at which things change. And, setting the flywheel spinning. Speaking of change, check out MAC's new website here. |

Bracken and family went car camping in Quechee Gorge State Park, Vermont. First time, but with the expectations that it was the first of many future camping adventures.

Topic 5 of 6 Member spotlight: Helga on "Change" Helga writes: As Greek philosopher Heraclitus said `The only constant in life is change`. And that is so true! We are in constant change...in order to reach stability. My present `change` is the EMBA Program I started last Fall. After spending an entire professional career in Medicine, this is a transforming experience in the most positive way. Gaining new knowledge, meeting new people - that is what it is all about. Participating in MAC activities, came as a dessert topping! Photos above illustrates some of Dr Helga's many interests, which include health care, hiking, biking, time with friends, mountain climbing, movies, skiing, and making the world a better place. In MAC circles she is known as having "radiant energy." |

Topic 6 of 6 Playing for change I am a big fan of classic rock and really enjoy "creative covers." One excellent source is Playing for change. The double meaning of its name is an appropriate window into its uniqueness. And it supports a great cause. If you like classic covers, a good first listen on Playing for Change is The Weight and if you like that try All Along the Watchtower. Let me know if you find one that "sings for you." |
