MH Leadership Team Happy May Fellow Hookers, I am enjoying this ladies group! I became a Matlacha Hooker, because of Beth Nelson. We have been friends for 33 years. I think most of you know her, and she was a director on the board. We worked together in Northern Indiana, she was the hygienist and I was the office manager. We became close friends. Beth retired and moved to Pine Island. We stayed in touch over the years, my husband and I came to visit her a few times, and fell in love with the area. My husband of 28 years and I, moved to Cape Coral, 3 years ago with our 2 dogs and our cat. We love living in a vacation area where the weather is always sunny and warm! I am enjoying creating a tropical garden in my lanai area. I love bromeliads, agaves, and orchids to name a few!! In joining the Matlacha Hookers and volunteering, I have become more familiar with the area, what it has to offer and have made some new friends! To ALL new members, volunteer for events, that is the best way to get involved and meet new people. It is so rewarding as an individual to help those in need. Also, I will be one of the leads for Christmas Caroling in the Cape, we need more volunteers this year to come and have a great night, caroling and raising money for the Beacon Hope. Last year we ended the night with pizza and drinks. May highlights for me, are of course my wedding anniversary, Kentucky Derby, Cinco De Mayo (love margaritas) and the Indianapolis 500 (being from Indiana) Enjoy Memorial Day Weekend, Lucinda Good, Director |
