TENANT FARMER SPOTLIGHT

Blosser Urban Garden

Blosser Urban Garden is a small-scale organic farm and CSA based out of Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo. We specialize in strawberries, lettuces, carrots and other row crops the region is known for, as well as seasonal specialties like tomatoes, beans, peas and squashes. Our mission is to expand access to healthy, organic foods through our CSA program and local wholesale partnerships and to promote local, sustainable food systems. We currently farm 2 acres of snap peas, strawberries, kale, cabbage, beets, artichokes and more at City Farm SLO and have summer squash and tomatoes planted for harvest later this year. We currently have subscription openings for our 2022 CSA season and our produce can be found on Harvestly.co.

FACES OF CITY FARM SLO

Elise, Regenerative Farming Intern

"Hi, my name is Elise! I’m a 20 year old queer painter/gardener interested in regenerative agriculture and sustainable community design. I became involved at City Farm SLO through the Cal Poly Garden Club and thought it would be awesome to get involved with the local community interested in the same stuff! My current goal is to learn as much as possible about regenerative agriculture and City Farm SLO is a great place to do that!"

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Last month, our walk-in cooler was vandalized, rendering the door unusable. This cooler serves our farmers and students in our programs. It stores produce prior to distribution to community members and to the SLO Food Bank. We asked for your support in raising funds for the costly repairs - and you answered the call! We are just $400 away from meeting our fundraising goal to make the repair. Many thanks for your support!

Help Us Fix the Cooler

Sincere thanks to our generous supporters and our Friends of the Farm for making our work possible.
