November Roundup 🦃

Brrreetings,

It was a brisk morning in Sisters. Many folks have been getting out to ride recently in these cold temps, albeit typically covered head-to-toe in insulative gear. If the cold holds you from the trails, stop by the shop to check out our cold-weather riding gear or our full lineup of indoor trainers from Wahoo. It’s something Santa wouldn’t mind bringing you or a loved one.

As we prepare to join friends and family over food this Thanksgiving, we bring you this edition of the Roundup with some shop and community news, a feel-good video—and information about our BIGGEST HOLIDAY SALE EVER. (If you’re tired of the exclusive holiday offers bombarding your email inbox, bear with us for a few more sentences, and we’ll be done.)

If you would like to opt out from receiving future writings, go to the bottom of this email and unsubscribe.

Holiday Bike Drive 🎅

Our annual bike drive has become a powerful force for good within the Sisters Community. Over the last seven years, we have received, serviced, and gifted nearly 400 bicycles to those in need.

If you or anyone you know has a bike lying around they’d be willing to part with, now is the perfect opportunity for it to go to a new home. We are already accepting donations and will be until December 15.

Our community appreciates your generosity!

New BMC Roadmachine AMP ⚡️

A few days ago, BMC unveiled a beast of a bike, the sub-30 pound Roadmachine AMP: an electric bike that blurs the line between road and gravel. This bike differs from its non-electric sibling because it features wider tire clearance and more endurance-focused geometry. This means on this bike, you could comfortably zoom to Camp Sherman from Sisters, climb to the top of Green Ridge, ride the ridge as far as you can, descend the other side, maybe go to Lake Billy Chinook if you please, and then zoom back to Sisters, all while being assisted by this bikes electric motor. These new electric bikes allow you to get the same workout as you would on a non-electric version but go far further.

Read more about the Roadmachine AMP here, or come to the shop to ask about it—we’ll hopefully have one in soon.

Sisters Trail Alliance (STA) Update 🌲

From STA Trail Talk - November

STA Volunteer Event — December 1st 5-7 PM at The Barn

When you come to an STA Work Party, you can immediately feel the energy of the group. There’s tremendous passion and excitement, and a feeling of getting things done. The list of work accomplished this summer is too much to add up, but we can assure you, whether you are hiking the new Whychus Creek - PRT Tie Trail or are riding the freshly brushed Green Ridge Trail, you will see (and feel) the work.

How to Share The Trail

It’s never too late in the season to remind all trail users of the importance of Sharing the Trail. STA is proud to represent all non-motorized users on our network of Sisters trails. And it’s important that we share best practices from time to time. Read how to Share the Trail here.

November's Must-Watch 📺

"It all starts with the trail. The crunch of the dirt, the smell of a dewy morning ride, or the feeling of brushing away pebbles with a perfectly timed belly scrub. These are the happy memories of a trail dog’s life well lived.

Raven is a 13-year-old retired trail dog from Squamish, British Columbia who’s spent countless days frolicking on loamy singletrack beneath towering spruces. Old age has slowed her down, and now Raven happily lies in the driveway, watching dog after dog, and their human, head for the hills.

Celebrating the joys of mountain biking through the eyes of the trail dog, Raven takes us from her driveway memories in BC to the high deserts of Utah, to freshly cut South African trails and back again. We meet some of the feistiest, four-legged trail personalities along the way, who all enjoy the mountain bike world in their own way, just like us humans do, whether it’s hitting jump lines, lapping through the loam, or setting out to build new trail.

Well, that's all for this month's Roundup. We hope you keep warm, get out and ride, and most of all spend quality time with those special to you. We wish everyone a beautiful Thanksgiving, and we are so grateful for your and our community's support.

Happy Thanksgiving,

The Blazin Saddles Crew
