The new year is just around the corner, it holds a promise of LIGHT. Each year I enjoy offering a celebration of the teachings of light and sound during the winter solstice.
Special Event this Sunday
From the highest light of the sun into individual human form we are all embodiments of light. During the winter solstice light returns and, weirdly, the void becomes still. Ancients likened it to the sun “standing still,” then slowly light returns and we get to re-imagine our world. The past heaviness of 2020-2021 has me looking forward to seeing new constellating LIGHT for 2022!
The earth has a spectral relationship to the sun and moon. With every point in the relationship there’s a certain amount of light and dark. It’s a creative principle reflected in nature and in our soul.
During the winter solstice we are rebuilding our relationship to light both individually and collectively. All of us are in it - we all carry a light. Astrology is the encoded language of light. The planetary gongs open the physical sensors within our body to carry this light. Their power is direct, something you can’t always receive intellectually or psychologically.
In other words you can’t possibly get to astrology or yoga by thinking about it a lot. You need a certain practice and experience. This is why I enjoy offering planetary gongs on the solstice.
The Archetypal Field and 2022
We are blessed with a powerful Jupiter, following the gravitas of 2020/21. Jupiter, known as the benevolent teacher, will be taking a comfortable seat when it hosts its own traditional sign of Pisces at the end of this month. It’s like putting light upon the tree of life. This combination gives hope, yet at the same time we need to remain realistic when using these new levels of Jupiter’s active imagination. I like to believe we have learned a thing or two during these two years’ sitting with Saturn! Yet Jupiter will also be aligning with Neptune, the path of non-duality. This is where we can use those no-nonsense lessons of Saturn, like maturity vs. spiritual by-pass or Guru glitter gimmicks, if we’re to experience unified fields and not get swept away in all that VISION! We will cover the possibilities and pitfalls of this new cycle on the night we gather at Karma.
The Nodal Axis -- Shifting Karmic Processes and 2022
Unless we’ve been living under a rock, the questioning of beliefs, information wars, and general contentiousness have been ongoing themes over the better part of recent Sagittarius/Gemini eclipse points. This is what’s called a nodal axis, a powerful set of opposites with outsized karmic influence. Nodal symbolism is profound. I believe it’s the number one most compelling aspect of our personal and collective evolutionary growth. We will discuss the importance of the nodal axis briefly during the evening solstice event, and I will be offering a new workshop on its importance in 2022. Every 18 months the nodes of the moon (Rahu and Ketu) move “backwards” in the sky. In late December of 2021 the nodes will change by sign to Scorpio and Taurus. The Scorpio and Taurus polarity will be emphasized throughout 2022. How we utilize our emotional and physical resources will take on greater importance. I will share a story on the nature of these beasts (the Scorpion and the Bull) Sunday night.
