Thank you for subscribing to the first quarterly issue of AMK JD Insights Newsletter. I am Arlene Marie Karole and my goal is to help you along your journey to healing by sharing information that helped me prior to, during and post my breast cancer diagnosis. Whether you are just diagnosed, or know of a family member, a friend, or a colleague with breast cancer, I am an advocate and dedicated to helping others become self-aware and empowered by taking charge of their breast cancer diagnosis. As I have found breast cancer is a lifelong journey, even more so in survivorship we must continue to engage in healthy behaviors, habits and self-care.

A little about me. I am a certified healthcare professional (CHCP), lifelong learner, journaler, author and educator and am here to share insightful articles, podcasts, videos, inspirational quotes, or other resources. I am also active with numerous organizations which helps keep me on top of new ways I can help you.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer in women. Mammograms and routine breast screenings can help find breast cancer early. Ask your health care provider about scheduling an appointment.

Starving Cancer Away

While I, like many of you, enjoy a sugary snack every now and again – I had no idea how toxic sugar could really be! This video with Dr. Sophia Lunt opened my eyes to some of the harsh facts about the link between cancer cells and sugar.

The Pink Fund provides financial support to help breast cancer patients in active treatment meet their daily living expenses. The grant program helps patients and their families by making payments for critical non-medical expenses such as housing, utilities, transportation and health insurance. Payments are made directly to creditors with a cap of up to $3000 for up to 90 days.
