MFO October 2021 Newsletter

A huge THANK YOU to all who sent messages, emails, phone calls to congratulate our Queen of Multiculturalism Cornelia Babbage, receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia by the Governor General at Government House for services to multicultural communities last month in Brisbane. She is a great example of resilience and compassion, who continues to support CALD communities not just on the beautiful Gold Coast but nation wide.

A true Leader of Positive Change.

"Thank you everyone, you all are part of this"

Meet our MFO team: Profile #3

Nearly 50 years of experience makes up the Settlement Engagement & Transition Support (SETS) team proudly supporting refugees and migrants on the Gold Coast at MFO. The team of five Ezzat, Savio, Renata, Mohamed and Faranak (not pictured) offer a wide range of assistance to clients in 8 languages in total. The SETS program is funded by the Department of Home Affairs to support migrants and refugees arriving to Australia for the first five years in the country.

The team takes great pride in what they do, filling out forms and helping with accommodation, citizenship workshops and advocacy with real estate, but in building a solid and long lasting partnership with communities. We educate, facilitate and learn simultaneously by sharing knowledge, respect each other’s culture and of course having fun. We are very proud of our team, as we not only support our clients but each other as well.
