Youth Groups Return

We have received further guidance from DCYA following last weeks new restriction measures and we are delighted to say we will be able to maintain our small group work.

Our youth centre allows for 10 young people and 2 youth workers to engage in projects safely and with appropriate social distancing measures and hygiene protocols in place.

Check out one of our Young Members experience of COVID 19 by clicking on the link below.

A Youth Perspective

Sustainable Development Goals

Youth Quake has developed a set of cards celebrating the SDG's and how they intend implementing their work towards their goals.

With support from Meath County Council's Environment department, the cards are embedded with a QR code which will link to a dedicated SDG page on our website.

These packs will be distributed to schools throughout the county over the coming weeks.

Young Carers Group

A young carer is a young person that is helping to look after a family member, who has a serious illness, disability, mental health issue or addiction.

Youth Work Ireland Meath are creating a Young Carers Support Group.

WRAP Training

WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) is an evidence based pratice, consisting of a personalised wellness and crisis plan. It adopts a strengths-based approach to recovery.

Participants are encouraged to manage their own wellness and recovery through the key concepts of hope, education, personal responsibility, self-advocacy and support.

We were delighted to deliver this programme to 10 of our young members, to support them in their day to day lives and with the additional stress of returning to school in the COVID era.

NYCI Sexting Resource

In the months since we all became experts at zoom calls, background screens and balancing home life and work life in the same space, it has become more evident at how much time our young people spend communicating online.

National Youth Council of Ireland have put together this resource in supporting parents and those working with young people in discussing the dangers of 'sexting' and how to protect themselves better in the online space.
