I am pleased to offer my consulting services to artists and arts organizers.
I specialize in career support for professional artists and arts-workers with hard-to-define practices (interdisciplinary, ephemeral, research-based, conceptual, socially engaged, hybrid, etc), and/or artists who are seeking stewardship through a moment of transition in their work.
With nearly two decades of experience producing exhibitions and programs for institutions while maintaining an artistic practice, I understand the side of the institution as well as the artist — and I have come to see that my particular perspective can be a great resource for other artists.
For ten years, I was Founding Director of EFA Project Space, an experimental, interdisciplinary exhibition program of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA) in New York, where I supported the work of over 500 artists and independent curators, produced over forty exhibitions, and hundreds of public events. My proudest accomplishment while at EFA was creating the unique “SHIFT” Residency that nurtures the creative life-balance of artists who work for arts institutions in New York City: a cause very close to my heart. For most of us, being an artist is a continually uphill process, for which there is no formula. There has certainly been no formula for my art practice, which combines media, research, storytelling, and performance! Building infrastructure and support around our creative practice is a life-long process. We are in this together!
