Hi, it's me, Alli. I haven't popped into your inbox for quite a while (pregnancy + baby + developmental edits), but I thought you might want an update on my writing life...like a HUGE update! If you're new or don't remember me, my upcoming debut, Cities of Smoke and Starlight, is a (clean) New Adult Science fantasy. I like to describe it as Rogue One in a World War I world. |
1. Cities is currently being prepped to send off to a copy editor, which is why I'm comfortable sharing the release date with y'all. AH. I can't believe it! 2. Cities 2 is up next on the docket to finish out draft 2. It's my favorite out of the two so far, so I canNOT wait for you to read book 1....so you can then read book 2, lol. I'll probably say the same thing about book 3, so take that with a grain of salt! I just LOVE exploring these characters soooo much! |
3. Another goal this year involves outlining book 3 with a possible drafting of it. 4. Last but not least, I want to dig back into the world of YA Fantasy! I have one idea that just keeps coming back to me, and while I've already started it, it needs a full outline and some hard work. |

You're the FIRST to know this date, so keep it secret until I make it public next week on Instagram! That's right. Cities of Smoke and Starlight will be coming your way MAY 4th! I went back and forth with several possible dates, and I wanted one with some significance but not too much to overpower my release completely. I also wanted it to be in theme. For example, March 15th was in the running for a while because of Julius Caesar, and Cities boasts several Shakespeare references. However, I decided on May the 4th (aka Star Wars Day) because my book owes much of its inspiration to Disney's Rogue One (the definitive best new Star Wars. Fight me.). Either way, I'm still planning what release day looks like, the cover reveal, preorder, and so much more. So stay tuned for those updates! |
