JUNIORS
A very warm welcome to the Witney Hockey Club Junior Section!
We pride ourselves on our inclusive and accomplished junior programme. From age 5 to 18 we provide top hockey coaching to all abilities. Watch your child grow in confidence and skill as they learn to work as a team whilst keeping fit and making friends.
With qualified coaches and assistance from 1st team players, our juniors learn hockey in a safe environment from the role models they'll likely play with as they develop into adult hockey.
We know how to get players into England Hockey Development Centres, if that's their aim. With county coaches as part of our coaching staff, Witney boasts a range of JDC participants. But whatever the player's focus we make sure to have fun week in, week out, whilst learning key skills.
Many of our adult players joined us as juniors, including nine members of our National League Ladies' 1XI team, demonstrating the nurturing environment we provide coupled with the quality of coaching.

TRAINING
Junior training is at Wood Green School and starts from the first week in September.
Training sessions are organised by school year and by gender. The following table shows what ages, school years and genders train together. All training is at Wood Green School, Witney.

Juniors over the age of 13 showing potential will be invited to train with an appropriate senior team.

Please note, there is no junior training during half terms.
WELFARE
If you have any welfare concerns or want to enquire about the clubs ‘hardship fund’ for low income families keen to play junior hockey, then please contact our club's Welfare Officers, Jude Norton and Kirsty Morgan, by filling out the form at the bottom of this page.
MEMBERSHIP
£100 for the first child; £15 discount for each sibling. Payable at the first training session or after a two-week trial. Please click here for more.

KIT
Our kit is by Canterbury and is provided by Be Uniforms, which can be bought online. U8 - U12 wear white shirts with black socks, and U14 and over wear all black. Junior match shirts are kindly sponsored and provided on game days, but if you'd like to purchase your own you'd be more than welcome!
As well as playing shirts there are other accessories such as hoodies, tracksuits, training tops and more.
