NGPC LAKE HAVASU

APRIL 24-25

NGPC Round 5 Lake Havasu, April 24-25. After almost a decade of racing NGPC crew decided to go ahead and completely change the existing lay out. It made for something very refreshing for all the riders considering this is our third time racing here in 3 months. It evened the playing field and kept the racing fun.

Justin Seeds was first off for the weekend and had his work cut out for him with robby this round. Caitlyn would put in a solid ride and unfortunately we would miss having Ava Silvestri with us this weekend due to personal family matters. Mason and Tyler showed a great outing in the AA race on Saturday and earn solid positions for the pro race on Sunday.

JUSTIN SEEDS

2ND

VET PRO

Justin and Robby had another battle this round, but the roles were reversed. Robby had a decent lead on Justin early on. Justin maintained a good pace and with a few laps to go snapped a chain and forced him to DNF. He still managed to earn second place.

In his words: "Race started off well getting the holeshot and leading up until there was a red flag and we had to restart. I was able to get the holeshot again but Robby had  really good  speed and was able to get by me half way into the first lap and I had to play catch up but he was moving and I just didn’t have anything for him. Then that’s when I had the unfortunate problem with my chain breaking on the last lap, luckly I was able to still get a 2nd."

TYLER LYNN

5TH

   PRO

Tyler had a great round of racing under his belt. Finishing in the top 5 and showing the potential that we know he has to be successful in the 450 class. He is making steps forward with finding the setting he likes to be comfortable and competitive.

In his words: "I got off to a pretty good jump and came into the first corner around 7th. I found a decent flow early so I made a couple of passes and settled into 5th place. I put in some really good laps and managed the heat as best as I could. I would end staying in 5th for the rest of the race and that ties my best finish in the pro class. We’re slowly making our way to where we want to be and couldn’t be more excited about it. Thanks to everyone that makes this possible for our team"

MASON OTTERSBERG

4TH

PRO 250

Mason won AA on Saturday and finished 1st overall. Sunday he had a decent start and was battling back in 5th when he went down and knocked the wind out of himself trying to make a pass on Colton Aeck. He fell back to 10th and fought his way back to 4th place. Not where he wanted to be, but he salvaged good point and is tied for third in the championship going into the summer break.

In his words: "Bummed about being off the podium again this weekend, but I fought through a lot of adversity and charged hard to salvage points and manage my fight for this championship going into the break. I have a lot of cool things in the works for the summer to get better that I think could help push me forward for the last half of the season."

CAITLYN KURTZ

5TH

WOMEN'S OPEN A

Caitlyn found the struggle bus this weekend, but is positive otherwise. She understands these kinds of races will make her better and the experience gained is just as valuable as good results.

In her words: "Round five of NGPC at Havasu was a tough weekend. Saturday I had a smooth race but my speed wasn’t there. I ended up 5th in the Women’s A class. Sunday I was last in the Women’s Four-Stroke Open A class but was able to move my way up to first. But an hour in the heat got to me and I made the tough call to pull in and not finish the race. Over all it was a fun weekend but I definitely have some work to do over the break to get ready for the next round."
