Dear Friends of Bloomshine,
The Clayburn family is happy to report sales of the vinyl album The Space Cadet Shipwreck raised over $10,500 through the efforts of the Bloomshine Foundation, friends, and volunteers. The majority of albums have been mailed out, however, orders which came in December and January will be sent out this week. If you haven't received your album and would like to find out the status, please email us at bloomshinefoundation@gmail.com.
Checks for $3,500 each were written to the Wounded Warrior Project and the San Francisco Symphony. Additionally, a scholarship in Evan's name in the amount of $3,500 will be awarded to a graduating Campolindo High School student accepted into college as a music major. Applications will be given to candidates in April after college admissions and the winner of the scholarship will be announced on Awards Night in May.
Below are letters of thanks from the Wounded Warrior Project and the San Francisco Symphony representatives:
Letter from the Wounded Warrior Project
"Thank you so much for the generous gift from the Bloomshine Foundation in memory of Ansel Evan Clayburn. After reading Mr. Clayburn's bio, I looked up the song "Sweep" on Spotify. So beautifully sung and arranged. Thank you for choosing the Wounded Warrior Project to memorialize such a remarkable man and talented musician.
The Warriors and families we serve are thankful for your support."
Letter from the San Francisco Symphony
"It was an absolute pleasure to speak with you this morning and to get to hear the deep and meaningful connection behind your recent gift to the Symphony. Evan's legacy is one that words can only begin to describe, his community's love and care for him is profoundly evident.
As promised, I’m sending you my contact information and another BIG thank you for your steadfast support. Additionally, please feel free to forward this YouTube podcast to those who you think would enjoy knowing that the last concert Evan attended at the SF Symphony was MTT playing Mahler's 7th Symphony. He attended both the May 16th and 17th concerts in 2019 during the evening show and sat in the Loge - seat M: A-8."
Once again, we would like to thank everyone that supported the Bloomshine Foundation. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us and those who your donations assist. We still have vinyl available for sale and would love to make additional gifts to charity, if those of you who haven't had an opportunity to purchase might do so.
