'Tis the Season
The spirit of the season has overcome me!
I don’t know if it’s the amount of Netflix Christmas movies that I’ve been watching (admittedly, quite a few), or my heart has opened more, but the magic and wonder of the season is upon me. In recent years I took the stance of ‘Christmas is such a commercial holiday, I’m not going to buy into it’ and then snubbed most festivities. It was easy to do when I was usually living abroad and family was far away. I used to celebrate with friends but then that petered out as many moved countries (the life of an expat). No worries…I thought it was part of my spiritual path, that I was doing the spiritually enlightened thing..I said to many, “We should be giving and loving all year long, not just in December!” Talk about Ms McJudgy! While I do still believe we should practice this all year long, I now realize I was in effect closing my mind and heart to Christmas, I was closing myself off to much more than the ‘commercialism of Christmas’. Because the holiday season is more than that.
And it’s not just a Christian thing. For about a month, many of all faiths, meet up to have office or group parties or dinners just for the sake of it being Christmas, more people are giving and open to receiving (a wonderful balance to achieve), attending Christmas concerts, plays, tree decorating ceremonies, lighting ceremonies…the opportunities for gathering together with the common intent to create something beautiful, celebrate for the fun of it, appreciate something high vibrational that you’re watching or hearing, and just a joyous bunch of people opening their hearts because it’s Christmas. People are donating to food banks, donating to charities, helping others in need. It’s a wonderful time when community comes together.
And this energy created worldwide DOES create an enchanting, wonderful time of the year. I have been in predominantly Islamic, Buddhist, and Hindu countries at different Christmases and still experienced this opening of hearts and joy and celebration. Spiritually, now that my scrooge-like tendencies have been shattered, I sense the Angels pouring down upon everyone even more so during this time of year, in addition, the winter solstice comes on the 21st, bringing in huge energetic shifts for 2020.
There’s a reason ancient wisdom and healing modalities have many rituals and ceremonies within their practices. It’s the INTENT and open heart during these rituals that co-create the realities we live in.
I’m still not geographically close to my family but I feel it in the air everywhere, the magic, the wonder, the sparkly light of the Angels and Elementals rejoicing and celebrating with us. Not to mention the actual Christ light that pours onto Earth on Christmas Eve and Day, regardless of religion or creed. This love and light is for all of us, every soul and animal and living being on this planet. So I ask you to open your heart and mind to the magic, the wonder, the light, the love, the angelic frequencies surrounding us. Always. But especially during this holiday season.
Now I’m off for a walk to appreciate the Christmas lights in my neighbourhood with my hot chocolate and candy cane flavored vegan marshmallows (who knew such a thing existed?!). It’s the simple joys in life that really make me smile.
